I am so happy to se...Well-written, Modern Collins.

I am so happy to see all these people responding in defense to Phoenix on this post. Some of your comments above are so dead on with how I feel; It's awesome.

If Martin Cizmar was truly involved downtown, he wouldn't possibly have been able to make the statements he's made.

First Friday's has quadrupled in numbers in the past five years. Also, the variety of culture and businesses downtown has become so much more vast. These things only pave the way for supply and demand for music... something Modern Art and others are obviously answering to.

Roosevelt Row and the city of Phoenix can attest to this.

Speaking honestly for nearly everyone I know and myself and a large group of people from the Valley and now living Downtown: PHOENIX IS NOT DEAD!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7398034308295840970.post-82805924181973989222009-10-27T01:10:17.315-07:002009-10-27T01:10:17.315-07:00there was a scene here before and will be a scene ...there was a scene here before and will be a scene after. i guess its just when the scene that concerns those who care about going to see black carl while kicking back an obscure beer at lost leaf is put at jeopardy everyone should take a deep breath and expect the worse because the world is just about to end. lord forbid. with 2012 around the corner even. the modified was a big part of the scene and kimber did do alot for everyone but i doubt she even would support the statement of downtown phoenix coming to an end. ......all im saying is, it shouldnt really matter to those who actually know whats going on down here, not the ones that depend on knowing whats cool and hip through a local publication annnnnd downtown Phoenix should have a basketball team as well as tempe and they should settle it on the court. that way it could inspire bring it on 5: this time its personal. just saying.SELECThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10907470624177702667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7398034308295840970.post-33303815583864784982009-10-11T21:57:55.008-07:002009-10-11T21:57:55.008-07:00Well written Mr Collins!

Thank you for this response. If Phoenix was "dying", then I doubt there would have been such an uproar as there is. For my short time here, I've seen the scene grow exponentially, and I cannot wait to see the great things that are to come.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06527511161232790095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7398034308295840970.post-42814639162346458752009-10-10T03:37:20.604-07:002009-10-10T03:37:20.604-07:00That's the second time the Bikini Lounge has c...That's the second time the Bikini Lounge has come up in this verbal battle with Mr. Cizmar, and I gotta tell you, I've never seen him there.

kennedyskhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08428910645228806093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7398034308295840970.post-47477468258573475042009-10-09T19:04:52.835-07:002009-10-09T19:04:52.835-07:00Agreed. Most people who complain that there's no scene here are just out of the loop anyway. New Times has become a worthless rag in recent years. Forget bringing back the Tempe of 90s(club 411, tommy hilfiger rocking dudes cruising mill etc) bring back the New Times of the 90s.

-Brandon AdamsonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
